Dr Chow commenced his academic journey with a focus on Computing and Information Systems. After completing his undergraduate studies, he continued his education over the next decade, earning a master degree and a doctoral degree in business administration. Thomson achieved the qualifications of Chartered Engineer (CEng) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) in 2001, followed by recognition as a Chartered IT Professional (CITP) in 2004.
Over the years, Dr Chow has taken on a variety of roles, including programming, system analysis, system and networking administration, user training and support, document writing, procedure auditing, research, and system implementation. His professional experience is extensive, spanning multiple regions including Hong Kong, Taiwan (ROC), China, and Australia, within both academic institutions and commercial sectors.
Dr Chow is a professional member of several distinguished organisations, including the Australian Computer Society (ACS), British Computer Society (BCS), Hong Kong Computer Society (HKCS), Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE), and the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA). These affiliations demonstrate his extensive expertise and active involvement across the fields of computer science, engineering, and information systems auditing on both regional and international platforms.
In addition to his professional achievements, Dr Chow is deeply committed to community service. In 2016, he was appointed as a Justice of the Peace (JP) in New South Wales, Australia. He volunteers his time at JP community desks during the evenings at two local libraries in Sydney, providing valuable assistance to the public by witnessing document signatures and certifying copies. Through his dedication to public service, Dr Chow continues to contribute meaningfully to the community, with his commitment to helping others.
